Nissan Z Proto revealed: Retro design with Fairlady Z badge and twin-turbo V6

After ten years of existence, Nissan 370 Z is finally being replaced with a new model called Z Proto. The sports car bears a neat retro look combined with contemporary technology. The design draws its inspiration from the first-gen 240, with the pearlescent yellow paint, and even a “Fairlady Z” badge on the trunk.

Nissan Z Proto is not yet available to purchase – the name “Proto” comes from prototype. But it offers a pretty good glimpse of what the production model will look like.

In terms of power, Nissan Z Proto features a twin-turbocharged V6 engine which is expected to develop 400 horsepower (298 kilowatts), according to Motor1.com. The V6 is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission channelizing the power only to the rear wheels. Nissan is working on developing an automatic transmission also.

The production version of Nissan Z Proto should arrive next year as a 2022 model, with prices expected to start at $40.000.
